On May 17, 2013, Janes Gärttner presented his first performance, during the opening of the master-student exhibition “Top 13”, at Kunstverein Freiburg. The performance named „Junky“ referred to his first film „The Revenge of Van Gogh“, from 2012. Van Gogh abruptly entered the stage, calling out for iconoclasm, for the declared aim, that „The beauty of the potatoe“ will be seen again in the future.
